Thinking of the Sanchez family. My mother told me of the sad news. Back in 2004-2005, I decided to enter the Vidalia Onion Run. I was several years older than most of the young High School Runners from around the region. When I arrived at the race, the information was that a Montgomery County High School Athlete was going to win the 5K race. I thought to myself, Who could it possibly be? It turns out that it was Mario Sanchez. While some of my family and friends attended Montgomery County High School over the years, including my mother Judy C Salem. I was a 1996-1997 graduate of Vidalia High School. When the 5K race was over, Mario Sanchez was the winner. I was the second place winner that day. We both took trophies home that day. Mario Sanchez will be greatly missed. He was obviously a great athlete and family person. Time is given to us by God. While the hands of a clock are important. Gods hands are obviously the greatest. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

For the past few days I have been contemplating on what to say or if I should even say anything at all because there isn’t anything I could say or do that would alleviate the pain that everyone feels right now especially your family. All I can say is that I am  sorry, I truly am.

I am glad for the time we did get to spend together on the same soccer team a few years back. You were a good teammate , but what was evident was that you were an exceptional father and husband. These are only a few of the quality’s you possessed.

May you Rest In Peace My friend and May we see each other again one day.

Mario!! I cant believe this. Im so glad we met and your craziness is never to be forgotten. I remember the times you would talk about your wife and kids how much they meant to you. They are certainly in my prayers. I know you will watch over them... we will certainly miss you. But you will always be in my memories. May you RIP and keep heaven rocking.
