Russell was the star of the movie and it was was a perfect vehicle for his incredible natural talent. What great memories we all have of Russ and of his free spirit, congeniality, and the deep bond he had with so many of his classmates. I can still see him running through the upper deck of the VHS gym trying to get to Mr. Turner's Lit class. Russ was a jewel, a trusting soul who made a deep impression on so many. He was so appreciative and complimentary, something I needed desperately in such a thankless job. He was so kind and authentic. Even after our brief acquaintance he still was so thoughtful and would post happy birthday messages to me on facebook. I never met anyone as dynamic and humble as him. No doubt he is getting his angel wings right now. My deepest compassion to his family. |

Russell helped populate my roster with many fine talent and his selfless sunny nature was supportive and giving. I only saw Russ on stage once at my husbands theatre, "The Renaissance Project" in a show by Neil Simon, "Rumors" but I never forgot it. Michael and I have talked about him many times since then.
