Mrs. Kathleen Thigpen Poole, age 78, of Newton, died Thursday, October 8, 2020 at her residence in Newton. Mrs. Poole worked as a caregiver and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Newton.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Tillman Poole; both of her parents, Salem and Lula Mae Gillis Thigpen; one daughter, Judy Mae Poole Purvis, and one son, James Shannon Poole.
Kathleen is survived by two sons, Wayne Poole of Newton, GA, Jimmy (Sara) Poole of Coolidge, GA; two daughters, Kathy (Glenn) Owens of Albany, GA, Margie (Randy) Willis of Cleveland, TN; two brothers, Robert Thigpen of Glenwood, Billy (Jan) Thigpen of Glenwood; three sisters, Mae (Sammy) Munford of Alamo, Earline (Talmadge) Prickett of Soperton and Betty Brinson of East Dublin. Thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Thigpen Poole will be held Monday, October 12, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Malcolm Parker officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the cemetery.
