Mr. James Sikes, age 78, of the Ohoopee Community, died peacefully early Sunday morning, January 26, 2020 at his residence after a sudden illness. James was a native of Cobbtown and a life-long resident of Toombs County. James was a retired carpenter by trade and was Baptist by faith.  James was an avid coon hunter and enjoyed being outdoors.

James is preceded in death by his parents Quillion and Jenny Mae Sikes as well as fourteen brothers and sisters.

James is survived by his loving and adoring wife of 59 years, Christine Sikes, of the Ohoopee Community; Two sons, Greg (Teresa) Sikes, of Lyons, Christopher (Amber) Galbreath, of Cedar Crossing; Two daughters, Beverly (Ivy) Toole of Lyons, and Priscilla Sikes, of Lyons; Two brothers, Carl Sikes, of Cobbtown, and Goodboy Sikes, of Normantown; One sister, Janie Sizemore, of North Augusta, South Carolina; Four grandchildren, Jordan, DeAnne, Jamie and Chris; And three great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Will, and Alexis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday January 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Vidalia Chapel of Ronnie L Stewart Funeral Service.  Reverend Jimmy Dupree will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Ohoopee Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday January 28, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm, in the Vidalia chapel of Ronnie L Stewart Funeral Service.
