Mrs. Sarah Haines Bishop, age 77, of Vidalia, died Sunday morning, January 19, 2020 at Lumber City Nursing & Rehab after an extended illness. Sarah was born on December 22, 1942 in Mt. Vernon and was retired from Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville AL. She enjoyed painting, doing crafts, gardening and was Baptist by Faith.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Elizabeth Haines of Mt. Vernon; one brother, William Haines; one sister, Elizabeth Ann (Haines) DeCair; and her husband, Larry Bishop.

Sarah is survived by two sons, Billy (Teresa) Clifton of Alamo, and Brian (Rena) Clifton of Uvalda; one step-daughter, Lisa (Chris) Norwood of Guntersville, AL; one step-son, Scott (Renee) Bishop of Huntsville, AL; one brother, Jimmy (Daisey) Haines of Soperton; and two sisters, Virginia James of Vidalia and Jean Haines of Mt. Vernon. Several grandchildren, Michael (Angela) Clifton of Vidalia, Dustin (Erin) Brooks of Alamo, Benjamin (Nora) Deaton, Cassie (Dylan) Deaton, Joshua (Paige) Bishop, Courtney (Jordan) Bishop; and several great-grandchildren, Shelby Clifton, Josh Clifton, Jackson Brooks, Allie Haymons, Tenley Haymons, Reid Haymons, Kaily Deaton, and Jayla Deaton also survive. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Haines Bishop will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel with Pastor Brian Patrick officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel from 1:00PM until the hour of service.
