Mr. Roger Demmer, age 69, of Mt. Vernon died Monday evening, November 25, 2019 at his residence after an extended illness. Roger was a native of Batavia, New York, and lived in Mt. Vernon, Georgia since 1974. He retired from the City of Mt. Vernon and was a member of Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church of Ailey.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Demmer of Mt. Vernon; four sons, Roger Demmer Jr. of Uvalda, Raymond Demmer of Soperton, Sam Demmer of Soperton, and Scott Demmer of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Dorothy Rogers of Mt. Vernon, and Mary Ivey of Fitzgerald; three sisters, Carol Irwin of Leroy, New York., Janet Mann of St. Albans, West Virginia, and Judy Demmer of Leroy, New York. Nineteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild also survives.
Funeral Services for Mr. Roger Demmer will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church of Ailey with Pastor Brian Patrick officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
