I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Lloyd Darby in 2012. At the time, East GA Healthcare Center wanted to establish a partnership with The Dental College of Georgia (DCG) to provide oral health care in Vidalia, through clinical rotation experiences with dental students, under the supervision of Dr. Darby. For four years, the Mercy Medical Clinic Dental Program became a popular site for dental students because Dr. Darby made them feel so welcomed. He went above and beyond to ensure they learned dentistry and took time to introduce students to the local community. Dr. Lloyd Darby was kind, caring and a great man. I thoroughly enjoyed his stories and many jokes :). Thank you to his family for sharing him with us. Dr. Darby will be fondly remembered!
