Mr. Kenneth William Tharp, age 91, of Uvalda died early Monday morning April 16, 2018 at Summers Landing of Vidalia after a brief illness.

Mr. Tharp was a native of Evansville Indiana, and retired from Chrystler and moved to Uvalda in 1982. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Corp serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a Mason and a member of Uvalda Baptist church where he served as Sunday school superintendent and trustee.

Mr. Tharp is preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and James Tharp; and his sister, Carolyn Clark.

Mr. Tharp is survived by his beloved wife, Doris M. Tharp of Uvalda; one son, Ben Tharp of Uvalda; one daughter, Kathi Lovelace of Sherpherdstown West Virginia. Eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth William Tharp will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 4:30 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Adrian Bell and Reverend Andy Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Gibbs Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 3:00 PM until the hour of service.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Regency Southern Care Hospice and also ask in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Regency Southern Care Hospice, 2311 East First Street, Vidalia, GA 30474.

Ken was a wonderful man of God that is the definition of what it means to follow Jesus. I am glad that God allowed our paths to cross in this life and I look forward to seeing him again in the sweet by and by.
