Mr. Steve Morgan, age 67, of Toombs County died Sunday January 21, 2018 at Meadows Regional Medical Center of Vidalia after a sudden illness. He was a native of Coweta County, living in Toombs County the last 20 years. Steve retired from Stokes Masonry as a boiler maker and he was also a Mason. He was an avid sportsman, hunter, and fisherman; and he enjoyed any outdoor activity. He was Baptist by Faith.

Mr. Morgan is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Marie Morgan.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 20 years, Gail Morgan of Vidalia; three daughters, Shannon Smith (Larry) of Newnan, Ashley Kelley (Dr. Wayne) of Macon, and Holly Apple (Clay) of Newnan; one brother, David Morgan (Lynda) of Newnan; two step-sons, Johnathan Hayes of Hazelhurst, and Joshua Hayes of Uvalda; the mother of his children, Joy Morgan; and twelve grandchildren, Tyler, Mason, Hannah-Claire, Charlie, Chloe, Carter, Grayson, Austin, Brice, Caleb, Lilly, and Ashton.

Funeral services for Mr. Steve Morgan will be held Thursday January 25, 2018, at 2:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan with Reverend Craig Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family will also receive friends for visitation Wednesday evening at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.


Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements in Lyons. McKoon Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements in Newnan.

Gail, I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing, I have known Steve for most of my life, he was a good man and will be missed by all who knew him, you and all of the family are in our toughs and prayers. may god bless you and keep you close to him in your time of grief
