Mrs. Bernise Williams Thompson, age 94, of Lyons died Friday December 29, 2017 in Cleveland Tennessee after an extended illness.  She was born in Tattnall County Ga. and spent most of her life as a resident of Lyons, Ga.  For the past five years, she resided and was cared for by the loving staff of Bradley Healthcare in Cleveland Tennessee.  She and her husband were the owner/operators of Superior Lumber Company in Lyons, Ga. for twenty-six years.  She was a homemaker, and an avid reader.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons, Ga.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Howard Thompson; and parents Carswell Williams and Della Sikes Williams.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughter, Delores Thompson Warren and husband Lewis H. Warren of Cleveland Tn.; her son, James Randall Thompson Sr. and wife Linda McSwain Thompson of Statesboro, Ga.; one granddaughter, Shay Thompson Morgan and husband Clint of Statesboro, Ga.; two grandsons, Dr. Lewis H. Warren III of Washington D.C. and James Randall Thompson Jr. and wife Laura of Pooler, Ga.  Three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bernise Williams Thompson will be held Monday January 1, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Interment will follow privately at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
