Mr. James Tony Coleman Sr., age 89, of Glenwood died Tuesday evening December 26, 2017 at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Tony was a native of Wheeler County and resided in Texas for many years returning to Glenwood in 1974. Tony was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a retired chief of police in Glenwood with 21 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, V.F.W., and Woodmen of the World.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his son, James Tony Coleman Jr. of Glenwood; his three daughters, Marie Smith and Denise Williams (Ricky), both of Glenwood, and Sue Lindsey (Mark) of Bonham, Texas; his grandchildren, Dustin, Chris, Eli and Ali; and his great grandchildren, Destin, Ashanti, D.J., Brogan, and Waylon also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. James Tony Coleman Sr. will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel with Mac Morrison and Reverend Kevin Morrison officiating. Interment will follow in Edge Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home in Glenwood Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the hour of the service.
