Mr. Charles “Nicky” Summerlin, age 67, of Vidalia died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 after a sudden illness. Nicky was a native of Vidalia. He was a master craftsman who was an avid gardener and historian. Nicky was a graduate of Mercer University of Macon.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Thomas Summerlin and Johnny Summerlin; and his sister, Ellen Stewart.
He is survived by his daughter, Erin Summerlin- Donofrio (Cody) of Dallas Texas; his nephews, George Stewart of Lyons, and Mark Nickel (Christy) of Conway South Carolina; his neices, Lillian (Paul) Thigpen of Vidalia, Valerie (Jay) Tapley of Vidalia, and Jessica (Jamie) Meade of Lyons; and his sister, Kathryn Nickel of Vidalia.
A memorial service for Mr. Charles “Nicky” Summerlin will be held Saturday June 3, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday June 3, 2017 from 2:00 PM until the hour of the service.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Dear Kitty (Kathryn) and Family: Words can not express our sorrow in Nicky's passing. I remember so well the times I spent with you and your family when we were in high school and the joy and love that permeated throughout the home. Please know that I grieve with you, my best friend, and I wish I were there to help comfort you in this time of sorrow, but Leonard and I are praying that our Heavenly Father will comfort you and give you that peace that passes all understanding. You have been so blessed to have such a loving mother, father, brothers and sister, but perhaps the best of all, a wonderful husband. May God hold you in the palm of His Mighty Hand and give you comfort.
