Mrs. Margie Parker Mosley, age 88, of Lyons, died early Saturday morning May 20, 2017 at Community Hospice in Vidalia. She was born March 19, 1929 in Wilmington N.C. but lived most of her life in Lyons. She retired from the Department of Family & Children Services as a Case Worker Supervisor, was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons, and a member of Women of Faith Sunday School Class. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Gould Mosley; her parents, B. G. Parker and Eunice Southwell Parker.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law Jay and Teresa Mosley of Lyons, and Jack and Helen Mosley of Athens; five grandchildren, Michael (Amber) Mosley of Lyons and Katie Mosley of Lyons, Jake (April) Mosley, Marc (Emma) Mosley, and Chad (Lauren) Brown, all of Athens; and her neices, Kay Mosley Darby (Tommy), of Ontario, Canada, Jackie Mosley Moses (Harry) of Vidalia and Ann Mosley Epply of Vidalia; two                      great-grandchildren, Preslie Jaye Mosley of Lyons, and Chloe Jo Mosley of Athens; and her special friend, Sonny (Sue) Jones of Savannah.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Parker Mosley will be held Monday, May 22, 2017, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Lyons with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Lyons City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Lyons Chapel Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Jay, Jack and Families, I was out of town all weekend and just saw that Ms. Margie passed. I am so sorry. I always enjoyed seeing her. She has had a good life. I know you will miss her but take comfort in your happy memories. God bless you all. Love to you.
