Mrs. Maria E. Martinez, age 70, of Ailey died Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center of Statesboro after an extended illness. Mrs. Martinez was a native of Homestead, Florida and had lived in Ailey for the past seven months. She was a retired cook from Redland Christian Migrant Association in Homestead, Florida and was Catholic by Faith.
Mrs. Martinez is survived by her two sons, Jesus Martinez Jr. of Homestead Florida, and Christopher Martinez of Ailey; two daughters, Maria Stella Barrett (Jeffrey Allen) of Lumber City, and Dianna Marie Martinez of Sanford Florida; two brothers, Carlos Palomares of Texas, and Tony Palomares of Illinois; and four sisters, Zoila Montelongo, Isabel Ramos, Janie Martinez, and Alicia P. Soliz, all of Texas. Ten Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held privately at a later date.
