Mr. Eugene Whitaker, age 80, of Tarrytown died Thursday evening, October 27, 2016, at his daughter’s residence in Senoia, Georgia after an extended illness.

Mr. Eugene Whitaker was a native and lifelong resident of Montgomery County. He was co-owner of Tucker Drywall, former employee of McLemore’s Abattoir, a member of The Beagle Club and a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church in Conley, Georgia. Eugene loved the outdoors, as he was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Mr. Eugene Whitaker is survived by his daughter, Janice Williamson (Charles) of Senoia; daughter, Lynn Lawrence of Dahlonega; son, Billy Joe Lawrence of Dahlonega; grandson, Destin Lawrence of Dahlonega; former son-in-law, Brian Bullard of Senoia; two brothers, Tony Whitaker of Mt. Vernon and Ronnie Whitaker of Ailey; and sister, Vera King of Ailey. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Eugene Whitaker will be held Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Chris Cagle officiating. Interment will follow at Ferguson Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, October 29, at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

The family request that all friends and family wear comfortable clothes (preferably jeans) to both visitation and the funeral service.

Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
