Mrs. Evelyn Frost Hightower, age 93, of Vidalia died Sunday evening, October 23, 2016, at her residence after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Hightower was a native of Toombs County, living the past 54 years in Montgomery County. She was a retired bookkeeper at Estroff’s Department Store in Vidalia. She was also an active member and past president of Montgomery County VFW and Women’s Auxiliary.

Mrs. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Hightower, in 1993.

Mrs. Evelyn Hightower is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Williford of Vidalia, Patricia Rains of Vidalia, and Sandra Hall (Donald) of Vidalia; two granddaughters, Lisa Jones and Kay Hutley; three grandsons, Keith Williford, Jason Rains, and David Hall; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Evelyn Hightower will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Bill Lee officiating.  Interment will follow at Ruth Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends this evening at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

The family will gather at the home of Mrs. Patricia Rains at 1605 Joe Hilton Rd, Vidalia.


In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
