Mr. William P. “Bill” Stone, age 68, of Cobbtown died early Tuesday morning, August 30, 2016, at his residence.  

Mr. Stone was a native of Mobile, Alabama, living most of his life in Cobbtown, Georgia. He was a Merchant Marine, an Army Vietnam Veteran, and a member of Conners Baptist Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Bill is preceded in death by his son, William Powers Stone Jr.; his parents, Walter and Margaret Stone; and his brother, Woodrow Stone.

Bill is survived by his wife of 39 years, Frankie Stone; daughter, Lauren Stone; brother, Walter Stone; and sisters, Lena Mosley and Sue Espinosa. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services for Mr. William P. “Bill” Stone will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Chester Proctor officiating. Interment will follow. Family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3119 E North Street, Vidalia, GA 30474 and at www.sacredheartvidalia.org.

Frankie and family, I am so saddened by the loss of Bill. He has brought any smiles and lots of laughter over the years that I have known him. I think back to high school days, the pranks he pulled, the fun we had. I will miss him. I know your heart is broken, but he would not want you to be sad. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief. Much love to you....
