Mr. Roy Lynn Sr., age 77, of Garden City and Lyons, died Monday, May 9, 2016 at Memorial of Savannah after a sudden illness. Mr. Lynn was a native of Lyons, residing in Garden City for the past 55 years. He retired with 43 years of service from Garden City where he worked in various positions in city management, including 12 years as a police officer. Since retiring 13 years ago, he has enjoyed riding his Harley with his son, nephews, and best friend. Mr. Lynn previously served in the Georgia National Guard. He was Baptist by faith.

Mr. Lynn is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Lynn (2004).

He is survived by his son, Tab Lynn (Renee) of Garden City; two sisters, Lilian Gatanis (Bob) of Aiken, South Carolina, and Lois Wentz of Okeechobee, Florida; two grandchildren, Heather Stiles of Pooler and Tara Kemp (Robert) of Pooler; four great-grandchildren, Destany, Savannah, Colton, and Carson; and his riding partner, Ernie “Pops” Brown of Savannah.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Roy Lynn Sr. will be Friday, May 13, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Lyons City Cemetery with Reverend Rick Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM.

Tab&Renee I,am sorry for the lost of your father I know it will be hard on you but the lord almighty will pull us through this. As you know uncle Roy was a good man and he was a real close friend to me we talk all the time about different things I,ll we'll miss him.
