Mr. Jose Z. Torres, age 77, of Waycross died Saturday January 16, 2016 at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness.

Mr. Torres is a native of Puerto Rico, living most of his life in Florida and Waycross, Georgia. He was a retired landscaper and a member of the Ware County Exchange Club, the Okefenokee Lions Club, AA Redemption Group, and First Presbyterian Church of Waycross.

Mr. Torres is preceded in death by his wife, Olivia Camacho, parents Tomas and Flora Torres, and several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Torres is survived by his daughter, Flora A. Torres of Higgston; brothers, Ramon Torres of Massachusetts and Pablo Torres of Puerto Rico; sister, Marcola Torres of Puerto Rico; and grandchildren, Olivia Johnson and husband Dustin of Lyons and Cody Martinez of Vidalia. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jose Z. Torres will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Harry Sims officiating.  Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service.

Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Dear Flora, Olivia, Dustin, Cody and other family and friends, So sorry to learn of the death of Mr. Torres. May each of you be comforted and feel God's presence and peace as he holds you close and walks with you each step along this path in life that you are facing now. I am confident that you all share so many wonderful memories of times spent with him and I trust these will warm your heart and remove some of the pain that you experience in times as this. God's blessings to each of you.
