I have known Jean as a friend for many years in Darien; not a close friend but a friend that would do anything for anyone in need-I don't think she would ever let anyone go hungry with her wonderful cooking-probably the best I have ever known; she was so very devoted to her family and I know that she will be missed by family and the community-I just pray God's blessings on the family and may Jean RIP as she labored hard on this earth and she will now be served manna from heaven...love to all...Karen Turner

"Ms Jean" will be missed. I didn't know her very long but the brief time we were friends was a treasured time. She always had a hug and a smile for us and asked, "How ya doing?" She cooked the best "homemade" food ever. Johnny and I often talked about how hard she worked and how she cherished her family. Her family mean t so much to her and she would do anything for them. She was a lady who worked very hard to provide and it sometimes and she is now at rest and will reap her reward.

Melba/Carl--I just found out reading the Darien News. Thinking about your Mom and "old times" and the 100's of times she fed us made me smile. She was always so sweet to us even when "she was getting on us" about something. She was one of the people who made Darien a special place to grow up for me. The memories will never fade and hopefully will soon replace the sadness.
