Mr. Irwin M. Corbitt, Sr., age 78, of Glenwood died Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Thomasville, Georgia, after a brief illness. He lived in Glenwood for the past 20 years, was a retired operations manager, and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

Mr. Corbitt was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Corbitt.

Mr. Corbitt is survived two sons, Irwin M. Corbitt, Jr., of Thomasville, Georgia, and Kenneth Allen Corbitt of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters, Joanne Laney of Phoenix City, Alabama, and Mary Ellen Foley of Columbus, Georgia; four grandchildren, Claire Corbitt, Sarah Corbitt, Christie Landstrom, and Katie Marentes; and two great-grandchildren, George Wyatt Landstrom and Elin Jane Landstrom.
Funeral services for Mr. Corbitt will be Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Sardis Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Irwin. I met him through my dad, Guy Clark a few years ago. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Praying the Lord will give you strength, comfort and peace.

I am posting for my dad, Guy Clark. He is unable to attend the services for Mr. Irwin, as he has pneumonia. He ask me to relay his thoughts and prayers. They were good friends and he will be missed. Keeping your family in his thoughts and prayers.
