Mr. Matthew Wayne Harden, age 29, of Vidalia died early Monday morning October 5, 2015 at his residence.

Matt was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County.  He previously attended Toombs County High School, was a metal fabrication operator, and was Baptist by faith.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Brandon Whitfield; and grandfathers, John W. Harden and Bobby Joel Rouse.

Matt is survived by his wife, Jessi Harden of Daytona Beach, FL; two sons, Mikah Cheeks of Augusta and Lucas Harden of Daytona Beach, FL; one step daughter, Terra Taylor of Daytona Beach, FL; his father and step-mother, Wayne and Susan Harden of Vidalia; his mother, Barbara Rouse of Hazlehurst; two brothers, Cody Whitfield of Vidalia and Christopher Waters of Seoul South Korea; two sisters, Ashley Whitfield of Vidalia and Dianna Johnson of Vidalia; maternal grandmother, Barbara A. Rouse of Daytona Beach, FL; paternal grandmothers, Eva Harden of Vidalia and Jessie Byrd of Reidsville.

Funeral services for Mr. Matthew Wayne Harden will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Bishop Gilbert Wommack officiating.  Interment will follow at Ohoopee Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
