Mrs. Rubena Dixon, age 99, of Glenwood, died Tuesday evening, September 1, 2015, at her residence after an extended illness.  

Mrs. Dixon was a native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother and dedicated her life to caring for her family and her flowers. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dixon is preceded in death by her husband, J. H. Dixon, and three sons, Bob, Billy, and Jack Dixon.

Mrs. Dixon is survived by six grandchildren, Mike, Paul, Jerry, Greg, Terry, and Marty Dixon, all of Glenwood; one granddaughter, Linda Sue Fountain of Mt. Vernon; nine great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rubena Dixon will be held Friday, September 4, 2015, at 3:00 pm at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel with Reverend Dewitt Corbin officiating. Interment will follow in the Edge Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel on Friday afternoon beginning at 1:30 p.m.
