Mr. Floyd Beasley, age 72, of Mt. Vernon died Monday, July 27, 2015, at his residence following a sudden illness.  

Mr. Beasley was a native of Millen, Georgia, living most of his life in Mt. Vernon.  He was a maintenance millwright worker for Mohawk Industries in Dublin for 27 years and retired in 2009. He was also a member of Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church of Ailey.

Mr. Beasley is preceded in death by his brother, Reverend Marvin Beasley; sisters, Kathleen Beasley, Doris Brantley, Sarah Dennis, and Lois McDaniel; and granddaughter Nichole Carter.

He is survived by his wife, Maude Beasley of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Michael Beasley and wife Sherry of Warner Robins, James Beasley and fiancé Lisa Hightower of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Cynthia Etheridge of Wheeler County; and five grandchildren, James Samuel, Deloris, Donald, Jessica, and Melissa. Several nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Floyd Beasley will be held Thursday, July 30th, at 11:00 am at Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Patrick and Reverend Chester Beasley officiating. Interment will follow at Midway Cemetery in Treutlen County. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 29th,  6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church.

Flowers are welcomed; however, the family asks that donations be made to Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church.  

Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service of Vidalia is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Maude & family, we are so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Floyd. Jimmy & I have fond memories of him working at Mohawk. I know he will be dearly missed. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers today and in the coming days.
