Mrs. Shirley Dianne Thompson Morris, age 66, of Vidalia died Friday evening, July 3, 2015, at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness.
She was a native of Augusta, Georgia, and retired from the Council of Juvenile Court Judges. Mrs. Morris had previously worked at Vidalia Advance and Toombs County DFCS.
Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband, Philip G. Morris of Vidalia; four sons: Barry Alan Morris of Cedar Crossing, George Edward Wilkes of Lakeland, Florida, Larry Wilkes of Pensacola, Florida, Jared Trevor Wilkes of North Carolina; one brother: Thomas Thompson of Pensacola, Florida; four sisters: Ellen Chastain of Augusta, Jane Elliot and Rachel Kerns of Pensacola, and Penny Sotler of Niceville, Florida; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Shirley Dianne Thompson Morris will be held Friday, July 10th, at 6:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Bob Corley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the hour of the service. Interment will follow privately at a later date.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed Shirley when I would see her. She struggled for a while with sickness and the only positive thing you can say is that she is not in pain now and suffering. May God comfort you and give you peace at this time that only he can. May he guide you through the next few days and I especially pray that Chance and Philip will be comforted as they go down this path and may God be with them and give them the love and guidance thjey will need.

My grandmother was and always will be my mommy. She raised me when she didn't have to. I put her thru heck and thru it all she still loved me. I miss her all day every day. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers for my granddaddy, son, and family.
