Mrs. Joyce Spence, age 84, of Glenwood died Friday morning January 2, 2015, at Emanuel County Medical Center after a brief illness.  

She was a native of Emanuel County and lived most of her life in Florida. She returned to Wheeler County upon retirement as a registered nurse in 1997.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Barney Spence in 1979.

Mrs. Spence is survived by her two sons Billy Spence and wife Jeri of Vidalia, and Ricky Spence and wife Linda of Dade City, Florida; two daughters Linda Bennett and husband Bob, and Dianne Zills and husband Jim both of Glenwood; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Spence will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church in Glenwood at 2:30 PM with Pastor Bob Corley officiating. Interment will follow in Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel Saturday evening from 6-8 PM.

Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service of Glenwood is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
