PVT Mitchell Folsom “Mitch”, age 20, of Mt. Vernon GA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 10, 2014.
Mitch was a 2012 graduate of Montgomery County High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and was currently stationed at Schoffield Barracks in Hawaii. He attended Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church.
Mitch is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert R. Folsom who was a World War II Veteran.
He is survived by his parents, Billy and Tammy Folsom of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Matthew Folsom and wife Tiana of Mt. Vernon and Ty Jones of Mt. Vernon; maternal grandparents, Donald and Faye Cape of Milledgeville; and paternal grandmother, Peggie Folsom of Jennings, FL.
Funeral Services for PVT Mitchell Folsom “Mitch” will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church with full military honors. Reverend Karl Hay is officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-8pm.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service of Vidalia is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
