Mrs. Rita Coleman, age 86, of Glenwood died late Tuesday evening, February 25, 2014 at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness.

Mrs. Coleman was a native of Treutlen County and lived most of her life in Glenwood.  She was retired from Oxford of Vidalia and the Wheeler County Hospital.  She was Baptist by Faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ennis Coleman in 2008 and her grandson, Travis Coleman in 1999.

Rita is survived by her son, Lamar “Bubba” Coleman of Glenwood; her daughter, Gail Jones of Glenwood; two brothers, Cecil McCoy and James McCoy, both of Vidalia; two sisters, Juanita Collins of Tarrytown and Brenda H. Jones of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Randell Meeks Jr., Jodie Butler, Chris Meeks, Marty Meeks, and Bobby Meeks; nine great-grandchildren, Jesse Smith, Asher Smith, Carli Meeks, Maci Meeks, Lilly Meeks, Natalie Meeks, Haley Meeks, Daylon Meeks and Heidi Meeks; and two great-great grandchildren, Wesley Polk and Jasmine Smith.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rita Coleman will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel with Reverend Donnie Crosby and Reverend Harry Ogle officiating.  Interment will follow in Glenwood City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service of Glenwood is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Praying that the family can find comfort and strength during this sad time in their lives. Ms. Rita was a loving and caring lady. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Words can not express how much Ms. Rita means to me. She was the most kindest, loving woman I have ever met. She loved everyone. She helped everyone. No questions asked. She is flying high and watching over all of us. Praying God gives her family strength at this time of need.
