Mrs. Aileen Joiner, age 89, of 1155 Hwy 56 East, Lyons died early Tuesday morning February, 4, 2014 at Bethany Nursing Center of Vidalia after a brief illness.  

Mrs. Joiner was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County.   She was a retired seamstress and homemaker. She was actively involved in Dixie Dumplins and Red Hatters; and was a member of Cedar Crossing Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, E.F. Joiner in 1986 and her grandson, Michael Boyd in 1987.

Mrs. Joiner is survived by three daughters, Vivian Taylor and husband Frederick of Lyons, Joyce Boyd and husband Herbert of Vidalia, and Faye Joiner of Vidalia; two sisters, Doris Kight of Jackson, SC and Dallas Robinson of Vidalia; one granddaughter, Sonja Dowd of Lyons; and four grandsons, Randall Boyd of Vidalia, Keith Boyd of Vidalia, Stacy Powell of Jacksonville FL, and Chad Powell of Vidalia.  Several great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter also survives.  

Funeral Services for Mrs. Aileen Joiner will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Reece Mincey officiating.  Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM.
