Mrs. Opal Harden, age 79, of Cedar Crossing died Sunday morning, July 28, 2013 at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness.  

Mrs. Harden was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Rock Springs Holiness Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, C.F. Harden Jr. in 1986.  

Mrs. Harden is survived by her son Austin Harden of Cedar Crossing; two daughters, Charlene Kirby and fiancée Wade Lively of Collins, and Carolyn Harden of Vidalia; her brother, Reverend Henry Dowd of Cedar Crossing; her sister, Lyvonne Odom of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Linda Wood of Brooksville, Fl., Dana Kirby of Lyons, Ashley Kirby of Collins and Danielle Norton of Monticello.  Eleven great-grandchildren also survive.  

Funeral Services for Mrs. Opal Harden will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Chapel of Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service of Vidalia with Reverend Henry Dowd and Reverend Gilbert Wommack officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon on Thursday.  

Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service of Vidalia is in charge of funeral arrangements.
