John O Haymons, age 80, of 341 Hackbranch Road, Ailey, died Monday afternoon February 18, 2013 at Oxley Park Health and Rehab of Lyons after an extended illness.

Mr. Haymons was a native of Ailey, resided in Florida for some 23 years, returning to Ailey in 1988.  He was a retired brick and block mason, a life member of DAV and a member of Snow Hill Community Church.  He was a veteran of the US Army where he was medically retired after being severely wounded in the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his infant daughter Debbie in 1956.

Mr. Haymons is survived by his spouse, Jackie Haymons of Ailey; three sons, John R. Haymons of Pace FL, Johnny M. Haymons of Ludowici, and Charles Danny Haymons of Ailey; three daughters, Angie Johnson of Glenwood, Robin Jacqueline Connell of Ailey and Donna Taulbee of Jacksonville FL; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for John O Haymons will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Snow Hill Community Church near Glenwood with Reverend W.R. Connell and Reverend Ladon Connell officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.  The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
