Vidalia

Mrs. Annette Fountain Maltby, age 84, of 198 Whispering Pines Road, Lyons, died Saturday evening, October 27, in Community Hospice of Vidalia after a brief illness.  Mrs. Maltby was a native of Emanuel County and had resided in Toombs County for the past 66 years.  She was a retired seamstress and a homemaker who loved and nourished her children and flower gardens.  She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Mrs. Maltby was preceded in death by her husband, George Maltby in 1983.  Mrs. Maltby is survived by five daughters, Linda Peebles and her husband, Harmon of Lyons, Brenda Dees of Vidalia, Gayle Maltby of Ft. Myers, Florida, June Starrett and her husband, Tim of Augusta, Tomi Glisson and her husband, Jeff of Brooklet, one son, Mikel Maltby of Vidalia, one brother, Howard Fountain of Vidalia.  Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Annette Fountain Maltby will be conducted Monday afternoon, October 29 at 2:00 pm from the Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Rev. Bill Vansant officiating.  Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 pm on Monday.  The family requests that contributions be made to Community Hospice of Vidalia at Post Office Box 2277, Vidalia, Georgia  30475.

Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service of Vidalia is in charge of funeral arrangements.
