Mr. Ray Whitaker, age 64 of Stilson, died early Wednesday morning at his residence from complications of injuries he received during a motorcycle accident in May of 2012. 

Mr. Whitaker was a long time resident of Bulloch County where he retired from both the US Coast Guard and Gulfstream of Savannah.  He was Baptist by Faith.

Mr. Whitaker is preceded in death by his father, Dewey Ray Whitaker Sr. in 2012, his Step-Mother, Peggy Whitaker in 2010 and his Step-Father Richard Anderson in 2004.  He is survived by his wife, Faye L. Whitaker of Stilson; one son, Eric D. Whitaker and wife Kathy of Statesboro; one daughter, Stacy L. Starke and husband Shawn of Stilson; his mother, Faye Anderson of Lyons; three sisters, Brenda Helms and husband Jack of Lyons, Mary Thompson of Vidalia and Debra Woodcock and husband Allan of Pooler; two step-sisters, Laura Andrews and Husband Bret and Debra Hiers and husband Jeff; one step-brother, Terry Anderson and wife Linda; six grandchildren, Jessica, Bethany, Erika, Hannah, Philip and Ryan. Two great grandchildren, Noah and Hayden, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Ray Whitaker will be Sunday October 7, 2012 at  3 PM from the Chapel of the Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service in Vidalia with Reverend Bucky Kennedy officiating.  Interment will follow at the Pinecrest Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 6 Pm on Saturday October 6, 2012.

Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service of Vidalia will be in charge of the arrangements.
