Mount Vernon

Janice Marie Watkins Tharpe passed away August 6th 2012 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Savannah GA, after a long illness.

She was 45 years old and a member of the Mount Vernon Pentecostal Church. She leaves behind her husband of 25 years, Lewis Tharpe of Mount Vernon,  GA;  her daughter Audrey Tharpe Wood of Mount Vernon, GA; her son Frankie Tharpe and his Fiancée Erica Fields of Mount Vernon,  GA.

She was born in Suitland,  Maryland on Andrews Air force base on June 6th 1967, to Andrew and Olga Watkins of Cottage Grove, Oregon.  She is preceded in death by her sister,  Jennie Lynn and her grandparent’s,  Paul and Florance Watkins of Hawthorne, FL and Gregory and Marie Horb of Willimantic, Conn.

She will be sadly missed by her many aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law  and friends especially her special sister-in-law Theresa Johnson who is, was and always will be her “Best Friend Forever.”

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at the Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Home on 1722 Mount Vernon Hwy Vidalia GA 30474.

The Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 9th 2012, 11:00am at the Mount Vernon Pentecostal Church with Reverend Ray Wood. Janice Tharpe will be placed in the Church one hour before the Service. The Graveside services will follow at the Mt. Vernon  Memorial Cemetery.  Ronnie L Stewart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be; Frankie Tharpe, J.R. Carroll, Bill Watkins, Mike Watkins, Eric Watkins, Quenten Johnson, Scott Hardeman,

Gail Johnson, Kevin Mercer, Jeffrey Carey, Andrew Watkins and Bryan Wood.
