Mr. Jearl R. Cuellar, age 54, of Rincon died Wednesday December 12, 2018 at his residence after a sudden illness.

 

Mr. Cuellar was a native of California and lived most of his life in Effingham County.  He was a former millwright, most recently working in maintenance at the Georgian Apartments in Rincon.  He was an avid gun collector and a member of the NRA as he strongly supported an individual’s right to bear arms.  He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking.  He was Catholic by faith.

 

Mr. Cuellar is preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Linda Cuellar; his sister, Lyn Statham; and his nephew, Brad Dorough.

 

Jearl is survived by his two sisters, YaVonne Quigley (Tim) of Vidalia and Leah Axdorff (Ken) of Rockford MI; his niece Stephani Fowler of Savannah; his nephew, Seth Statham of Breman; and his great niece Brianna Rose Fowler of Savannah.  Many special cousins also survive.


Funeral Services for Mr. Jearl R. Cuellar will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Robbie Rosier officiating. Interment will follow privately at a later date.  The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel from 12:30 PM until the hour of the service.

I had many conversations with Jearl after Aunt Linda passed. I guess at the time he was the closest thing I had to her. Herman and I both helped him in a number of ways but somehow I guess it wasn't enough. I did love him and will miss him.
