Mr. Ned Thompson Sr., age 90, of Ailey, Georgia died Thursday evening October 17, 2019 peacefully in his home after a sudden illness. Mr. Thompson was a native and lifelong resident of Montgomery County. Ned was a retired lumber salesman and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Thompson was the oldest member of the Ailey Baptist Church with 78 years of membership with the church.

Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by one son, Ned Thompson Jr.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Charles Ellen Thompson, of Ailey, one son, Herschel Robert {Sheryl} Thompson, and one daughter Sylvia {John} Harper of Hardeeville South Carolina. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jason, Alicia, and Tanya, as well as six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Ned Thompson Sr. will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Ailey Baptist Church. Rev. Louis Gonzalez will be officiating. The family will receive friends and family for visitation one hour prior to service time on Saturday.

Interment will follow at Thompson Cemetery.
