Mr. Willie “Blue” Mathis, age 69, of Glenwood died Thursday morning, August 18, 2016 at the Serenity Hospice House of Dublin after a brief illness.

Mr. Mathis was a native of Birmingham, AL, and had lived the past twelve years in Glenwood. He was a retired roofer and Pentecostal by faith.

Mr. Mathis is survived by his wife, Gail Mathis of Glenwood; one son, Russell Mathis of Alabama; one step daughter, Wendy Moore of Baxley; one stepson, Randy Yawn of Dublin; two grandchildren, Haley Mathis and Skyler Mathis of Alabama; two step-grandchildren, Nathalie Moore and Leland Moore of Baxley; and one sister-in-law, Linda Thigpen of Alamo.

Funeral Services for Mr. Willie “Blue” Mathis will be held Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Rodney Gibbs officiating.  Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel on Saturday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
