Mr. Ronald “Ron” Jones, age 68, of Glenwood died Monday, June 13, 2016 at Memorial Health University Medical Center of Savannah after an extended illness.

Ron was a native of Houston County and had lived in Glenwood for the past 19 years.  He was Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by his son Johnny Jones in 1984.

Ron is survived by his wife, Gail Jones of Glenwood; his daughter, Sherry Starnes (Mitch) of Perry; his step-daughter, Jodie Butler (Eric) of McGregor; four step-sons, Randall Meeks (Shelia) of Soperton, Chris Meeks (Kasey) of Soperton, Marty Meeks (Christy) of Soperton, and Bobby Meeks (Tabitha) of Soperton; his brother, Ralph Jones of Bonaire and his sister Dorothy Roberts of Macon.  Eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Ronald “Ron” Jones will be Thursday, June 16, 2016, at 4:00 pm at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel with Reverend Robbie Rosier officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 pm until the time of the service.
