Mrs. Mary Ruth Salter, age 77, of Vidalia, died Monday morning July 7, 2014 at Bethany Home of Vidalia after an extended illness.

She was a native and lifelong resident of the Vidalia area. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Oak Park Church of God.

Mary Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Salter, parents Charlie and Eula Mae Miller, two brothers Robert Grant Miller and Cecil Ray Miller.

Mrs. Salter is survived by two daughters Rebecca Phillips of Metter and Elizabeth Sue Kilpatrick of Florida; two brothers Ervin (Oveta)  Miller of Pooler and Otis Jerald Miller (Barbara) of Lyons; four grandchildren Deidre Lynn McCarty (Scott) of Metter, Michelle Lee Strickland of Metter, Shaun Patrick Stringer of Vidalia Joshua Abraham Kilpatrick of Florida; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ruth Salter will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Stewart Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Collins and Reverend Gilbert Wommack officiating. Interment will follow at Sharpe Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM.
