Mrs. Wilma Horne Carter, age 87, of Glenwood died Monday, January 6, 2014 at The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon after an extended illness.

Mrs. Carter was a native of Montgomery County and had lived in Glenwood for the past ten years.  She was a homemaker and Baptist by Faith.

She is preceded in death by two sons and two daughters.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her daughter, Martha Newton of Glenwood; her brother, Howard Spivey of Vidalia; and her sister, Mildred Jay of Vidalia.  Eleven grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilma Horne Carter will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Glenwood Chapel with Reverend Paul Mullins and Reverend Ronnie Saxon officiating.  Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service.
