Mrs. Flossie Jeanette Purvis, age 77, of Mt. Vernon died early Wednesday morning October 23, 2013 at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness.

Mrs. Purvis was a retired motel desk clerk and was Baptist by faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Ned Purvis in 1972; and two sons, David Larry Purvis in 2011 and Darryl Ned Purvis in 2008.

Mrs. Purvis is survived by her son, Jack Purvis of Mount Vernon and her daughter, Vickie Mimbs of Lyons.  Six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.  

Funeral Services for Mrs. Flossie Jeanette Purvis will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Reverend Charles Hodges officiating. Privately, interment will follow in Middle Georgia Memorial Gardens in Macon.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from        6:00 – 8:00 pm.
