Mrs. Marion Dees Dixon, age 91, of Vidalia died Saturday evening, July 2, 2016 at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Dixon was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. She retired as a secretary from Piggly Wiggly Southern with over 25 years of service. She was a member of Smith Street Baptist Church.
Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband Erma Dixon in 2014; her parents, John and Sadie Dees; her sisters, JoAnn Peterson, Jackie Foskey, Lucy Sammons and Pete Dees; and her brothers, Bobby Dees and Dwight Dees.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by two daughters, Elaine Stewart of Vidalia and Pansy Dunford of Vidalia; three sons, E.W. Dixon Jr, of Vidalia, Richard Dixon (Janice) of Vidalia and Rusty Dixon (Diane) of Lyons; her sister, Becky Vaughn of Vidalia; three brothers, Aubrey Dees of Cedar Crossing, Jerry Dees of Cedar Crossing and Johnny Dees of Baxley; five grandchildren, Josh Dixon (Melani), Clarissa Zabarac (Mike), Justin Dunford, Alison Lamb (Josh), and Lauren O’Neal (Blake). Five great-grandchilden also survive.
Graveside Funeral services for Mrs. Marion Dees Dixon will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at 11:30 AM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Stewart Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel on Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations in her memory be made to SOAPS of Vidalia or Community Hospice at PO Box 2277 Vidalia GA 30474.
Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss, I did not know she was 91, I hope she had not been sick a long time. You were lucky to have her in your life so long, we lost my mom in 1996 at the age of 73. Mothers are the backbone of the family, she keeps the family at peace and together.You will miss her so badly, please find peace in knowing that she is now at peace. Remember, you will always, always have your memories.
