Mr. Charles “Danny” Haymons, age 51, of Ailey died Thursday afternoon, May 19, 2016, at Community Hospice of Vidalia after an extended illness.

Mr. Haymons was a native of Tampa, Florida, residing in Ailey for the past twenty years. He was a diesel engine technician; an active firefighter with Ailey and Higgston fire departments; and he was a first responder with Montgomery County. Danny was a Nascar pit firefighter with Talladega and Atlanta Motor Speedway. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Sons of Smoke Motorcycle Club. He was Church of God by faith.

Mr. Haymons was preceded in death by his father, John Haymons, in 2013.

Danny is survived by his wife, Michelle Haymons of Ailey; two sons, Christopher Haymons of Ludowici, and Dalton Underwood of Ailey; two daughters, Christy Hudson of Ailey, and Jennifer Haymons of Ludowici; his mother, Emma Haymons of Ailey; two brothers, Randy Haymons of Pace, Florida, and Johnny Haymons of Ludowici; three sisters, Angie Johnson of Vidalia, Robin Connell of Ailey, and Donna Taulbee of Jacksonville, Florida; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Charles “Danny” Haymons will be held Sunday May 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Leonard Poole officiating.  Interment will follow at the family cemetery in Ailey with firefighter honors.  The family will receive friends on Saturday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Firefighters and members of Sons of Smoke Motorcycle Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Our team is made up of fire fighters and emergency responders from all over the United States. Even though we are miles apart, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We all wish we could be there for the services as you our part of our family. Danny will forever be in our hearts and his families always in our prayers. May peace and memories be will you always.
